About The Position

The Hardware Integration Specialist is responsible for the mechanical assembly, configuration, troubleshooting, and repair of Neumo’s Self-Service Terminals (SSTs), Over-the-Counter (OTC) printers, and related field hardware. This hands-on role combines mechanical assembly, basic IT and networking troubleshooting, inventory support, and equipment delivery to keep hardware in the field running reliably. Specialists build and configure hardware from blueprints and specifications, diagnose whether a failure is mechanical, electrical, or software-related, and safely operate non-CDL trucks to deliver and recover equipment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 0–2 years of hands-on technical, mechanical, or electronics experience
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean motor vehicle record (MVR)
  • Ability to pass a DOT physical (all levels)
  • Experience with kiosks, ATMs, POS, or other self-service/embedded devices
  • Basic hand and power tool proficiency (drills, saws, grinders, screwdrivers, wrenches, multimeters, crimpers)
  • Basic wood fabrication and repair
  • Windows and hardware troubleshooting
  • Basic networking and IP configuration
  • Mechanical assembly and blueprint reading
  • Inventory tracking and parts ordering
  • Safe operation of large delivery vehicles

Nice To Haves

  • Technical or vocational training in electronics, IT, or a mechanical trade is a plus.
  • Technical or vocational certification in electronics, IT (e.g., CompTIA A+), or a mechanical trade.
  • Ability to determine whether a failure is mechanical, electrical, or software-related and escalate or resolve accordingly.
  • Strong written communication skills, with experience producing technical documentation for internal and external audiences (Level III).

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, disassemble, troubleshoot, and repair hardware including registration printers, credit card readers, barcode scanners, journal and receipt printers, touchscreen monitors, battery back-ups, power controllers, USB devices, audio systems, and coin counters.
  • Assemble hardware units from blueprints and specifications using precision tools, and install and configure internal components such as power supplies, sensors, and I/O boards.
  • Configure Windows OS settings, install and update hardware drivers, and use Device Manager to resolve resource conflicts or unrecognized components.
  • Set up and test connectivity for integrated systems, including assigning static IP addresses, configuring subnet masks, and performing connectivity tests with command-line tools such as ping and ipconfig.
  • Diagnose and replace faulty sub-assemblies, such as sensors, motors, or PC components, on returned equipment to restore full functionality.
  • Complete Over-the-Counter (OTC) Salesforce tickets, including programming, testing, and preparing printers for shipment to the warehouse with correct configurations and contents.
  • Order parts internally using correct part numbers and descriptions, route them to the correct location, and navigate the internal parts and inventory management system (IMS) to research part numbers and descriptions.
  • Count and track inventory usage and assist with quarterly inventory counts.
  • Salvage decommissioned Self-Service Terminals (SSTs) by removing, cleaning, testing, and repackaging reusable hardware for return to stock.
  • Perform SST proficiency tasks, including unboxing and organizing SST packing material, applying instructional and decorative decals, and conducting site surveys at potential installation sites.
  • Provide support to Field Services and Quality Assurance, including supplying documentation, replacing faulty hardware, and relocating machines.
  • Safely operate non-CDL trucks up to 26,000 lbs to deliver and recover equipment and secure and stage heavy hardware using proper tie-down techniques and material handling equipment.
  • Attend and participate in team meetings, prepared to speak to assigned proficiencies.
  • Travel: Up to 25%
