Hardware/Field Engineer - Level 2 or 3 (AHT)
About The Position
Northrop Grumman's Space Sector is seeking a Hardware/Field Engineer – Level 2 or Level 3 to join their team in Colorado Springs, CO. In this role, the engineer will coordinate and lead preventative maintenance, repair, and construction/installation of Program systems, including climbing a 100 ft tower. They will perform technical tasks, demonstrate problem-resolution actions, and assist the Program Integrated Logistics Specialist (ILS) with logistics support such as shipping, receiving, kitting, Government Furnished Property/Equipment (GFP/GFE) inventory, and import/export. The engineer will also provide input to operational analysis and quality evaluation of products and their related performance, update metrics, and perform troubleshooting and diagnoses of malfunctions and errors. This position requires the ability to support after hours and on weekends as needed and involves 25-50% travel to remote sites, including foreign travel. This position is contingent upon the candidate obtaining final clearances and program access(es) and obtaining a Security + certification within a reasonable period of time as determined by the company. Continued employment thereafter will be subject to maintenance at the level of clearance and program access required for the position in the future. This position can be filled at either a Level 2 or Level 3.
Requirements
- Level 2: Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of professional experience – OR – Master’s degree with 0 years of professional experience. Will consider an additional 4+ years of experience in lieu of degree. Minimum High School Diploma is required
- Level 3: Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of professional experience – OR – Master’s degree with 3 years of professional experience – OR – PhD with 1 year of professional experience. Will consider an additional 4+ years of experience in lieu of degree. Minimum High School Diploma is required
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Security + Certification
- Must be able to obtain a US Passport
- Must be able to support after hours and on weekends as needed
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math)
- Construction experience
- Electronics background
- RF background
- Experience with Linux operating system
- Experience writing plans, reports, and procedures
- Valid/Current US Passport
Responsibilities
