At ButterflyMX, reliable hardware is essential to delivering a dependable access control experience for our customers. We are seeking a hands-on Hardware Engineering Technician to support the Hardware Engineering and Hardware Operations teams across product assembly, testing, troubleshooting, repair, failure analysis, quality validation, supplier quality documentation, and engineering test execution. This role sits at the practical intersection of electronics, hardware validation, manufacturing operations, field reliability, and quality improvement. The successful candidate will be comfortable working directly with electronic assemblies, intercoms, access control devices, readers, controllers, wireless hardware, test fixtures, cables, power supplies, sensors, and production or prototype hardware. The Hardware Engineering Technician will help build and test engineering prototypes, execute defined test procedures, document results clearly, troubleshoot failed products, perform repairs where appropriate, support RMA and field-failure investigations, assist with quality and reliability testing, and help document supplier quality audits and corrective actions. This is a hands-on role for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, technically curious, and capable of turning test observations into clear, useful engineering and operations documentation. This role is ideal for someone with strong standard electronics technician skills, good lab discipline, practical troubleshooting instincts, and the ability to work across Engineering, Operations, Quality, Manufacturing, Support, and external suppliers.
