Requirements

  • Bachelors + 12 years of related experience, or Masters + 8 years of related experience, or PhD + 5 years of related experience.
  • Experience working as a power design engineer for high-reliability power supplies for DC-powered equipment.
  • Proven experience with all aspects of power product lifecycle from early product definition all the way through shipping products to customers, and everything in between.
  • Experience with resolving EMI, EMC, and regulatory compliance issues.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with high-density, redundant AC and also DC input front-end power supplies for networking and telecom equipment.
  • Experience with 480V/277V HVAC and 200V-400V HVDC input supplies
  • Experience with digital circuit fault detection and mitigation technologies such as solid--state overcurrent protection, arc fault detection, or ground fault detection.
  • Experience meeting Functional Safety requirements from standards such as IEC 61508 or similar as well as product safety standards such as IEC 62368 or UL 1400-1
  • Experience with Cadence Schematic and PCB design tools

Responsibilities

  • Develop high reliability power supplies and system-level power architectures for Cisco power distribution platforms.
  • Architect, design, develop, and qualify power systems, subsystems, and components for highly reliable power distribution systems.
  • Partner with layout, mechanical, thermal, test, supply chain, manufacturing, and compliance teams to deliver best-in-class power solutions.
