About The Position

Be at the center of the action on new product development for iPad and input devices! The Hardware Engineering Program Manager (HW EPM) will drive a multi-functional team, utilizing a solid engineering background to understand and communicate cross-functional issues and risks. As a HW EPM you will be the critical point person on planning, design release, and delivery of the flex boards and main logic PCB to system build events as well as the system build planning and execution. This is a rapidly growing and exciting position to demonstrate both deep technical expertise and program management skills.

Requirements

  • BS engineering degree required.
  • 2+ years experience in hardware engineering or operations program management - proven ability to effectively manage factory build events and vendors.
  • Strong technical background in EE or ME.
  • Leadership skills and ability to inspire and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication, organizational and leadership skills.
  • Superior attention to detail - ability to manage complex build matrices and detailed build planning.
  • Self motivated and proactive with demonstrated creative and critical thinking capabilities.
  • Understands and deals well with rapid development cycles and constant change; remains flexible and calm in the face of uncertainty.
  • Experience interfacing with cross functional teams including Mechanical Engineering and Design, Systems Engineering, Reliability, Operations, and Marketing.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to support international travel for build events.

Nice To Haves

  • Masters in Engineering is a plus.
  • Experience with PCBA design, layout, or DFM a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the planning and execution of product prototype builds, working with a cross-functional team of electrical, software, and mechanical engineers.
  • Set and communicate clear objectives for the build schedule, serving as the primary point of contact for the program with Contract Manufacturer (CM) partners.
  • Lead multi-functional engineering team meetings to discuss design, set timelines, and ensure timely completion.
  • Understand the complexities of system integration and collaborate with teams to facilitate feedback through the internal design review process.
  • Maintain good communication and provide multiple levels of status to individual contributors and executive management.
  • Drive design discussion and design release of PCBs/Flexes to fulfill system engineering build demands.
  • Key contributor to system build planning and execution.
  • Collaborate and facilitate communication across multiple engineering teams and our CM partners to meet aggressive quality, schedule, and cost goals.
  • Understand technical issues & complex design trade-offs.
  • Drive to closure by bringing together key stakeholders; facilitating decision-making discussions to meet overall project objectives.
  • Identify risks, develop mitigation strategies and facilitate conflict resolution within and between teams, focus on top level objectives and develop best course of action.
  • Create/maintain complex and detailed program schedules.
  • Respond quickly to changes and minimize program impact.
  • Provide timely issue resolution and critical path management as top priorities shift.
  • Offer multiple levels of status across a wide spectrum of individual contributors to executive management.
