About The Position

Teradyne's Integrated System Test Hardware Engineering team is seeking a motivated, technically capable Hardware Engineering Lab Manager & Design Verification Engineer to lead the operation of the 700 ATD Hardware Lab and contribute directly to printed circuit board design verification and validation. This hybrid role ensures engineers have a safe, secure, organized, and fully functional lab environment while providing hands-on support for hardware bring-up, test execution, electrical measurement, troubleshooting, and documentation. The successful candidate will combine strong operational ownership with practical electrical engineering skills and a continuous-improvement mindset.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field; equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
  • Hands-on experience with electronic hardware, printed circuit boards, laboratory equipment, and engineering test environments.
  • Ability to use oscilloscopes, digital voltmeters, logic analyzers, and related test equipment.
  • Experience executing hardware test programs, capturing accurate measurements, and documenting test results clearly.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and communication skills.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively across Engineering, Facilities, Safety, IT, Procurement, and external suppliers.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, follow work through to completion, and maintain a safe, orderly, and productive shared laboratory environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with PCB bring-up, hardware debug, rework, prototype management, testbed maintenance, calibration programs, or hazardous-material controls.
  • Familiarity with Cadence Allegro.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with equipment rentals, purchase-order tracking, supplier management, inventory systems, capital planning, or engineering lab budgeting.

Responsibilities

  • Own the day-to-day operation, organization, cleanliness, safety, and security of the 700 ATD Hardware Lab.
  • Manage bench allocation and utilization, including high-touch and remote test activity.
  • Plan new benches, racks, shelving, and laboratory layouts as engineering needs evolve.
  • Coordinate lab cleanup, prototype and testbed management, routine maintenance, hazardous-material requirements, sound-deadening improvements, and other facility-related needs.
  • Procure, organize, and track new, rental, and calibrated equipment, tools, components, and rework supplies.
  • Implement practical controls that improve equipment availability and reduce loss.
  • Coordinate power drops, electrical work, wiring, network infrastructure, lab computers, rework stations, and related facilities support.
  • Manage supplier relationships, equipment rentals, and purchase-order tracking.
  • Help develop forward-looking budgets for equipment replacement, new capabilities, and lab growth.
  • Participate in printed circuit board design verification and validation activities, including hardware bring-up, functional testing, measurement collection, and results documentation.
  • Use oscilloscopes, digital voltmeters, logic analyzers, and related instrumentation to capture and interpret electrical measurements.
  • Execute hardware test programs and support troubleshooting and root-cause investigations with hardware design engineers.
  • Drive continuous improvement in lab processes, safety, organization, and engineering readiness.
