About The Position

At Teradyne, our Cooperative Education and Internship program is designed to deliver meaningful, fast paced and real-life work experiences that are relevant to your career and academic goals. Our program offers practical work experience in a business environment, with the opportunity to contribute and add value to the organization. We are seeking a full-time software- and hardware-engineering intern to join our Mixed Signal ASIC Test and Characterization team located in Agoura Hills, CA. The intern will be responsible for setting up and operating lab instrumentation for test development of mixed-signal application-specific integrated circuits (ASICs), supporting senior ASIC engineers in execution of ASIC verification and testing, and building software and hardware for efficient testing and data processing. This will be a fully on-site position out of our Agoura Hills, CA location from June-August.

Requirements

  • At least two years of college education in electrical engineering OR computer engineering OR computer science with a background in electrical/computer engineering
  • Familiarity with programming languages, such as C, C#, or Visual Basic
  • Familiarity with lab equipment, such as DMMs, power supplies, power generators, and oscilloscopes
  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools, such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Proactive in acquiring new skills and expanding technical knowledge
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with HDLs for FPGAs or ASICs
  • Familiarity with embedded systems and microcontrollers (e.g. Arduino)
  • Familiarity with SoCs
  • Familiarity with reading and comprehending technical documents (e.g. Datasheets)

Nice To Haves

  • Strong familiarity with PCBA concepts, such as reading schematics, layout, and manufacturing techniques
  • Familiarity with signal integrity concepts, such as S-parameters, TDR, and impedance
  • Familiarity with Git
  • Soldering and SMD rework skills

Responsibilities
