About The Position

This opening is for a Hardware Engineer to support networking hardware design, deployment, and sustainment on an active DoD program. This position will be responsible for designing, testing, and maintaining hardware systems critical to the program and ensuring they meet performance and reliability standards. This position will work closely with other engineers and program leadership to support the overall goals and objectives of the program. You will also have the opportunity to grow and sharpen your skills with other talented members of Centil. Please note: this role is required to be onsite in Boulder.

Requirements

  • US Citizen with a current DoD Secret clearance or higher (current Top Secret, with SCI eligibility, is strongly preferred)
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  • 5–10 years of experience in network hardware engineering, with at least 3 years in a DoD or government contracting environment
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, or equivalent enterprise/defense networking platforms
  • Familiarity with STIGs, RMF, and DoD network security requirements

  • Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+, or Security+

Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, install, and maintain networking hardware (routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers) in support of DoD mission requirements
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and network issues across LAN, WAN, and classified network environments
  • Collaborate with cross functional engineering teams on integration, testing, and deployment
  • Develop and maintain network architecture documentation, diagrams, and standard operating procedures
  • Support security accreditation activities (RMF/STIG compliance) as they relate to network hardware
  • Evaluate and recommend hardware upgrades, replacements, and capacity planning
  • Provide technical input to program planning, milestone reviews, and deliverables
