About The Position

The Hardware Design Engineer III is responsible for the design, development, testing, and support of advanced electronic products from concept through production. This role works closely with FPGA, firmware, software, mechanical, manufacturing, and product management teams to deliver innovative, high-quality products on schedule. The ideal candidate has experience designing complex digital systems using modern processors, FPGAs, DDR memory, high-speed interfaces, and mixed-signal circuitry, and is comfortable supporting products through all phases of the product lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • 3–7 years of hardware design experience.
  • Strong understanding of digital circuit design and embedded systems.
  • Experience designing systems using processors, microcontrollers, or FPGAs.
  • Experience with DDR memory interfaces and high-speed digital buses.
  • Proficiency with schematic capture and PCB design tools such as Orcad Capture and PADS Layout.
  • Knowledge of signal integrity, power integrity, and timing analysis principles.
  • Experience with laboratory equipment including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, and power analyzers.
  • Ability to debug complex hardware issues at both the board and system level.
  • Familiarity with common interfaces such as: Ethernet, USB 2.0/3.x, PCIe, HDMI, SDI, SPI, I2C, UART
  • Working knowledge of C/C++, Python, or scripting languages used for hardware validation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience with Xilinx and Intel FPGA-based designs.
  • Experience with video, imaging, audio, wireless, networking, or broadcast products.
  • Experience with high-speed PCB design (multi-gigabit serial interfaces).
  • RF and antenna experience will be a plus
  • Knowledge of EMI/EMC design practices and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Experience supporting products through manufacturing and production ramp.
  • Familiarity with Linux-based embedded systems.
  • Experience with design-for-manufacturing (DFM), design-for-test (DFT), and reliability engineering principles.
  • Understanding of component lifecycle management and supply chain considerations.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop digital and mixed-signal electronic circuits and systems.
  • Create detailed schematics and support PCB layout activities.
  • Collaborate with FPGA, firmware, software, and mechanical engineering teams to develop integrated solutions.
  • Select and evaluate electronic components based on performance, cost, availability, and lifecycle considerations.
  • Perform circuit simulation, analysis, and design validation.
  • Conduct hardware bring-up, debugging, and verification testing.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to power, signal integrity, timing, EMI/EMC, and system performance.
  • Support PCB layout reviews and provide guidance on high-speed design practices.
  • Optimize designs for performance, reliability, manufacturability, and cost.
  • Develop and execute test plans for design verification and validation.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide technical feedback to peers.
  • Generate and maintain technical documentation, including schematics, design specifications, test reports, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Support prototype builds, pilot production runs, and manufacturing transfers.
  • Work with suppliers and manufacturing partners to resolve technical issues.
  • Assist sustaining engineering efforts, including product improvements, component obsolescence management, and field issue resolution.
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable regulatory, safety, and environmental standards.
