About The Position

As a Hardware Engineer II – Component Engineer here at Honeywell Aerospace, you will be a key contributor to the design and development of cutting-edge hardware solutions. You will play a critical role in the hardware design process, ensuring the delivery of high-quality and reliable products. You will report directly to our Engineering Manager, and you will work out of our Moca, Puerto Rico location. External hires will begin with 90 days onsite before transitioning to a hybrid, 3/2 schedule. In this role, you will have an impact by guiding and driving the hardware design process, defining hardware requirements, and designing complex hardware systems. Your ability to work with cross-functional teams will enable seamless integration with other components and systems, enhancing the overall performance and functionality of our products. Be part of a team of subject matter experts in EEE Components. We provide electronic parts knowledge and technical expertise to meet part requirements throughout the product development and life cycle. The Component Engineer is responsible for providing knowledge and expertise in selection, specification, application, and qualification of electronic parts for use in high reliability applications. This position will require interfacing with, and leading design teams to assure reliable application of parts and interfacing with suppliers to assess part performance.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with various engineering functional teams to select EEE components for high reliability applications
  • Support EEE Component Selection and Validation efforts
  • Support EEE Component Failure Investigations
  • Perform Part Assessments
  • Perform specification review
  • Develop specifications that define screening and qualification requirements of EEE components
  • Communicate any non-compliance incidents to pertinent parties
  • Use engineering tools to perform part assessments and obsolescence analysis
  • Execute project subtasks to meet customer specifications (designing, testing, etc.)
  • Identify areas for technical improvement using engineering knowledge and principles
