About The Position

Packet Digital is seeking a Hardware Engineer II to support the development of advanced electronics for unmanned systems, including drones, satellites, and terrestrial applications. This role offers opportunities to work throughout the product lifecycle, from concept and design to validation and production, while contributing to innovative aerospace and autonomous technologies.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or equivalent experience
2-4 years of experience with: Microcontroller-based designs
2-4 years of experience with: CAN, USB, and serial communications
2-4 years of experience with: Schematic capture and PCB design
2-4 years of experience with: Thermal analysis and mitigation strategies
2-4 years of experience with: Precision analog measurements
2-4 years of experience with: Electronic test equipment including oscilloscopes, signal generators, and power supplies
Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and communication skills

Nice To Haves

Lithium battery and battery management experience
Solar power applications
DC/DC converter design
High-current PCB design (>50A)
Space or aerospace hardware experience
Low-power design expertise
SPICE simulation experience

Responsibilities

Develop hardware requirements based on customer and project needs
Research, design, simulate, and validate electronic circuits and system architectures
Create schematics and PCB layouts
Support product development, testing, troubleshooting, and production activities
Document BOMs, ECOs, and engineering changes
Participate in design reviews and continuous process improvements
Maintain engineering databases, components, and lab organization
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and support customer needs
Travel approximately 10-20%, including occasional overnight trips
Perform other duties as assigned
