About The Position

Evaluate reliability of materials, properties and techniques used in production; plan, design and develop electronic parts, components, integrated circuitry, mechanical systems, equipment and packaging, optical systems and/or DSP systems. Responsible for designing, developing, modifying and evaluating electronic, electromechanical or mechanical components, assemblies or integrated circuitry for hardware systems for the external market. Includes new design, as well as modification activities that results in significant product enhancement. Activities encompass design, analysis, testing and process development using engineering principles and methods. Technical disciplines may include electrical and logical design of printed circuits; mechanical design or electronics enclosures or integrated circuit packaging; and embedded software/firmware design. May work at various unanticipated locations throughout U.S (travel is up to 25%). May telecommute.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or in a Hardware Developer-related occupation
  • Storage devices with a focus on Solid State Drives (SSD) and NAND technologies
  • Electronic component selection, integrated circuit (IC), and Printed Circuit Board (PCB) design and validation
  • Power Management IC (PMIC) architecture, design, characterization, validation, and component qualification
  • Expertise in NVMe, PCIe, SATA and SAS interface standards and protocols
  • Embedded programming in C and C++, and firmware development for microcontrollers including SoC5 LP and STM32
  • Scripting in Python with practical experience in test automation, data analysis, and instrument automation
  • Technical collaboration across teams and with vendors, including issue resolution management, bug tracking, failure analysis, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
  • Design and validation of high-speed serial interfaces for debug and validation of PCIe Gen5 and associated hardware
  • System design and hardware system integration for AI servers in large scale datacenters
  • Custom GUI tool development for microcontroller communication and debugging
  • Hardware validation, debugging, and test framework development
  • Vendor management and technical liaison for product quality and hardware design reviews

  • Perform mechanical design of electronics enclosures or integrated circuit packaging
  • Perform embedded software/firmware design
  • Collaborate technically across teams and with vendors
  • Manage issue resolution, bug tracking, failure analysis, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
  • Design and validate high-speed serial interfaces for debug and validation of PCIe Gen5 and associated hardware
  • Perform system design and hardware system integration for AI servers in large scale datacenters
  • Develop custom GUI tools for microcontroller communication and debugging
  • Perform hardware validation, debugging, and test framework development
  • Act as a technical liaison for product quality and hardware design reviews
