About The Position

The Boeing Global Services (BGS) Government Training Engineering (GTE) team in Oklahoma City is seeking a talented Hardware Design Manager (K) to lead the Mobility, Surveillance, and Bombers training portfolio. (E-7, KC-46, B-52, AWACs) This team is responsible for the design and development of aircrew & maintenance training devices. A successful candidate will have a deep understanding of Boeing’s design practices, with expertise in prototyping and design for manufacturing. They will possess a strong technical background, enabling them to provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes. Their experience in Design and Production Engineering will ensure the successful translation of simulator designs into high-quality, scalable products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree or Higher
  • At least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership
  • Experience developing and managing large-scale project plans through the full project life cycle
  • Experience as a CAM (cost account manager) in EVM (earned value management)
  • Experience working with computer aided design and manufacturing (CAD/CAM) such as CATIA, Solidworks or Siemens NX
  • Experience developing requirements and performing requirements decomposition
  • Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

  • Systems familiarity with CMPro (ERP) and GOLDesp (MRP)

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day operations for a multi-disciplined hardware design team (mechanical & electrical)
  • Accountable for schedule, cost, and quality management across multiple programs
  • Efficiently allocate resources for stable execution of work scope
  • Identify and manage risks, issues, and opportunities
  • Develop and maintains relationships with customers, stakeholders, peers, and direct reports
  • Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
  • Manage, mentor, and develop individual design engineering contributors
