About The Position

Brookfield Properties is seeking a Handyman to provide maintenance services and supervision to maintenance staff at a large multi-use professional, and retail or residential complex. The ideal candidate will maintain a professional image and attitude, take direction from supervisors, and foster positive relationships with management and associates. This role requires adherence to company policies and a commitment to "Exceptional Service is Our Standard."

Requirements

  • HS diploma or High School Equivalency Certificate preferred.
  • Valid Government issued ID.
  • Required to join Union of record at property if applicable.
  • Must attend school as designated by 32 BJ or as required by management.

Responsibilities

  • Perform minor repairs and standard maintenance on building equipment, grounds, fixtures, machinery, and lighting in common areas and tenant areas.
  • Coordinate with management to incorporate outside vendors when necessary and ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner.
  • Interact with tenants regarding their maintenance needs.
  • Oversee preventive maintenance duties on all associated equipment.
  • Understand the operation of the BMS as it relates to HVAC.
  • Assist in the development of preventive and scheduled maintenance programs.
  • Schedule and complete preventive and scheduled maintenance work orders.
  • Update equipment and building information for the preventative maintenance program.
  • Supervise the setup of materials for promotions and special events.
  • Respond to and assign after-hours emergency calls, potentially requiring a return to the property.
  • Perform basic plumbing duties including inspecting, installing, repairing, and replacing pipes, fittings, and plumbing fixtures.
  • Perform basic electrical duties including inspecting, maintaining, and repairing lighting, wiring, and power circuits.
  • Perform basic carpentry duties including construction and repair of walls, partitions, drywall, shelving, counters, doors, and associated hardware.
  • Perform key cutting and locksmith duties.
  • Perform basic ceiling tile/grid repair and installation.
  • Perform basic painting duties including drywall and plaster repair, painting, filling holes and cracks, and wallpaper repair, installation, and replacement.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
