About The Position

Yellow Jacket Maintenance Services (YJM) is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician / Handyman with strong multi-trade experience to join our team. You will be responsible for supporting residential and HOA properties across the Chicagoland area. This role is perfect for an individual who excels in electrical, drywall, painting, and exterior repairs, and is committed to delivering high-quality, reliable, and professional service.

Requirements

• 3–5+ years of maintenance technician, handyman, or multi-trade experience
• Experience working in residential, HOA, or property management environments
• Strong knowledge of electrical, drywall, and general repairs
• Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly (up to 100 lbs occasionally)
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Own basic hand tools
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to participate in an on-call rotation

Responsibilities

• Complete maintenance, repair, and installation work orders across multiple properties
• Perform electrical repairs (outlets, switches, lighting, GFCIs, ceiling fans, breaker panels)
• Handle drywall repair, patching, and installation
• Execute interior and exterior painting and staining
• Perform exterior maintenance (siding, fascia, gutters, seal coating)
• Troubleshoot and repair lighting systems and fixtures
• Maintain a clean, safe, and professional job site
• Communicate effectively with property managers and HOA clients
• Manage time efficiently and complete jobs right the first time
