About The Position

Ameritech Facility Services is seeking a full time and experienced jack-of-all-trades technician/handyman willing to travel and assist clients with building repairs. Most locations are retail and restaurant customers who need help solving construction related issues; trouble shoot, diagnose and repair. Ability to build relationships is very important. Candidates should have at least 5 years of experience in carpentry with a basic understanding of electrical, flooring and plumbing. Must be able to pass a background check. Most work will be day time fixing commercial buildings. Some nights and weekends may be required. The company delivers services out of state. Travel for work out of state may be necessary. We try to distribute those interstate trips to all of the drivers and all drivers are subject to assignment to make those interstate trips.

Requirements

At least 5 years of experience in carpentry.
Basic understanding of electrical, flooring and plumbing.
Ability to pass a background check.
Commercial Construction Experience (5+ years), preferably restaurant.
Ability to travel regionally (50-75%).
Clean driving record and personal transportation.
Own tools (drills, saws, hammers, ladders, cords, shop vac, caulking gun, etc).
Cell phone.
Good communication skills.
Basic computer skills.

Ability to build relationships is very important.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair construction related issues for retail and restaurant customers.
Perform minor plumbing connections (sink supply and drain lines).
Perform minor electrical connections (disconnect and reconnect equipment).
Perform roofing repairs.
Perform concrete repairs.
Perform stucco repairs.
Perform fencing repairs.
Perform asphalt repairs.
Perform carpet repairs.
Perform tile repairs.
Use basic tools and install or assemble by following instructions.
Handle projects when needed.
Manage time and prioritize tasks.
Follow special instructions and schedules.
Maintain a clean and professional appearance.
Communicate effectively.
Scan, email photos and utilize apps from cell phone.
Willingness to learn other skills.
