About The Position
We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Handy Porter to maintain the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of a commercial property. The ideal candidate will have experience with janitorial work and basic building maintenance and repairs.
Requirements
- Valid Driver’s License with a reliable driving record.
- Flexibility to be on call for urgent maintenance needs.
- Hands-on experience using basic hand/power tools and small commercial/mechanical equipment.
- Physical ability to regularly lift and carry items up to 75 lbs.
- Proficient with work order management systems and basic computer skills.
- Functional literacy and numeracy skills to inspect delivery notes, double-check measurements, and track inventory.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
Responsibilities
- Perform general cleaning of common areas, restrooms, hallways, offices, and other assigned spaces
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and remove trash
- Complete minor repairs, including painting, patching walls, replacing light bulbs, and assembling or moving furniture
- Assist with basic plumbing repairs, such as unclogging toilets and addressing minor leaks
- Inspect the property and report maintenance or safety concerns
- Maintain entrances, sidewalks, parking areas, and exterior grounds
- Set up rooms or common areas as requested
- Keep tools, equipment, and supply areas clean and organized
- Respond promptly to work orders and requests from management
- Follow all company and property safety procedures
- Assist with snow and ice removal when required
- Perform other duties as assigned
