Outpatient Hand Therapist
About The Position
HealthWorks in Morgantown, WV is seeking a Per Diem Occupational Therapist to join their growing hand therapy team. This position offers flexible weekday coverage, including occasional evening hours until 7:00 p.m. The primary caseload consists of upper extremity and hand conditions, including tendon injuries, sprains, strains, post-operative fractures, and other orthopedic diagnoses. The role requires a clinician with strong hand therapy skills, including experience fabricating custom splints. You will work alongside experienced hand therapists, including Certified Hand Therapists (CHTs), in a collaborative environment focused on exceptional patient outcomes and clinical growth.
Requirements
- Occupational Therapist (OT) license or eligibility in West Virginia
- Minimum of one year of outpatient experience
- Graduate of an accredited school for occupational or physical therapy
- Hold specialty certification or licensure in hand therapy
- National registration and state licensure or registration required
- Experience in hand therapy and custom splinting strongly preferred
- New graduates with Level II fieldwork experience in hand therapy are encouraged to apply
- Solid experience in application of custom splinting pre and post-op orthopedic
- CPR certification
- Valid state driver’s license
Nice To Haves
- Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) is preferred, but not required
- Ability to provide coverage at our Maple Drive location
- Interest in supporting the growth of hand therapy services across nearby locations as referral volume expands
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the evaluation, plan of care, treatment, re-evaluation, discharge, and appropriate communications of high quality hand therapy services to patients and customers.
- Provide comprehensive and individualized treatment programs.
- Maintain positive level of interaction with facilities and clients. Enhance and expand client relations with facilities and their staff.
- Stay current and up to date with Occupational Therapy research and employ Evidence Based Practice (RCB, clinician expertise, patient perception).
