The Hand Therapist, certified occupational or physical therapist specializing in rehabilitation of patients with hand and upper extremity conditions caused by trauma, surgery, or chronic disorders. You will collaborate with referring clinicians to evaluate, treat, and restore function through customized therapy plans, including postoperative care, preventative strategies, and industry consultation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science or higher degree from an accredited OT or PT program
  • Licensed by the state of Massachusetts as a OT or PT
  • Advanced certification or eligibility for Certification as a Hand Therapist (CHT)
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required based on specialty
  • 2+ years of related experience
  • Computer experience required with the ability to use word processing and spreadsheet programs
  • Electronic medical record (EMR) experience and/or aptitude to master the EMR based on other technology experience
  • Proven solid interpersonal skills and sensitivity to patients’ physical and psychological needs
  • Proven excellent communication skills, both written and oral

Responsibilities

  • Specialize in rehabilitating patients with hand and upper extremity conditions through advanced therapeutic techniques
  • Treat individuals affected by trauma, surgery, or chronic disorders such as arthritis, carpal tunnel syndrome, and neurological conditions
  • Evaluate and identify functional impairments in the upper extremities
  • Develop and implement treatment plans including postoperative, preventative, non-operative, or conservative care
  • Collaborate with referring clinicians to ensure continuity and effectiveness of patient care
