About The Position

The Hand Polisher is responsible for polishing, buffing, and finishing a variety of metal components to meet established quality standards and customer specifications. This position requires attention to detail, manual dexterity, and the ability to identify and correct surface imperfections. The Hand Polisher works safely and efficiently while maintaining productivity and quality expectations in a manufacturing environment.

Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 25 pounds.
Frequent reaching, grasping, and handling of small metal components.
Ability to distinguish surface imperfections through visual inspection.
Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and respiratory protection when required.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous experience in metal polishing, manufacturing, metal finishing, jewelry finishing, or a related production environment is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Polish metal pieces to correct defects or to prepare surfaces for further finishing using hand or power polishing tools.
Remove scratches, pits, burrs, oxidation, and other surface defects to produce a smooth, uniform finish.
Prepare metal surfaces for plating, coating, or other finishing operations.
Inspect parts before, during, and after polishing to identify defects and verify compliance with quality standards and customer specifications.
Follow work instructions, production schedules, and quality procedures.
Operate polishing equipment safely and in accordance with company safety policies and standard operating procedures.
Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance of polishing equipment and workstations.
Report equipment malfunctions, quality concerns, or safety hazards to a supervisor promptly.
Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area in accordance with 5S and housekeeping standards.
Properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Accurately complete production documentation, if required.
Assist with training new employees when requested.
Work cooperatively with supervisor and other production employees to meet production goals.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
