About The Position

The Merchandiser independently services Hallmark departments in assigned retail stores, including grocery, drug, department, and mass retailers. The role focuses on showcasing products, maintaining inventory and displays, building relationships with retailer teams, and supporting other merchandisers when needed. Work may occasionally involve products from other companies in the stores serviced.

The position has a variable schedule during the work week and averages 10–15 hours per week. Seasonal demand may require additional workdays and extended hours before and after major holidays, with some holiday or weekend work. Merchandisers may also support department resets, installations, and remodel assignments, which can include evenings or weekends. Training is provided through live, hands-on instruction and virtual classroom training. Starting pay is $15.50–$17.50 per hour, depending on skills and experience. Eligible employees receive annual pay increases; part-time employees working fewer than 30 hours have access to voluntary benefits.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age.
• Able to read, write, and understand English.
• Able to frequently grasp, pull, lift, and carry products up to 30 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
• Able to operate a digital handheld device to open and read documents and interpret information.
• Access to a Wi-Fi network and the internet.
• Consistent transportation to travel to and between assigned stores as scheduled.

Responsibilities

• Restock, organize, and monitor Hallmark inventory in and outside the Hallmark department at assigned stores.
• Maintain the entire Hallmark product display at assigned stores and optimize product placement in collaboration with store teams.
• Use a Hallmark-provided mobile device for daily work, communication with a supervisor, time reporting, feedback, surveys, and merchandising activities.
• Interact professionally and courteously with store employees, management, and customers.
• Provide additional support around seasonal holidays, potentially including extended hours, additional workdays, weekends, or work on the holiday itself.
• Support department resets and installations, including building and installing fixtures, relocating card departments and products, and resetting card sections.
• Support fellow merchandisers in other territories as needed.
