As a Merchandiser Floater, you work independently in various retail stores to showcase Hallmark products, build retailer relationships, maintain product placement and inventory, and support fellow merchandisers with seasonal resets and installations. You may occasionally work with products from other companies in the stores you service. This part-time role averages up to 15 hours per week on a variable work-week schedule. The position requires availability around major holidays, including possible weekends, and to support seasonal changeovers, extended services, installations, and inventory needs. Holiday periods may require additional workdays or extended hours; on occasion, work on the holiday itself may be required. Resets and remodel assignments may include evening or weekend work, typically with two weeks’ notice. You will service Hallmark departments in a range of retail settings, including grocery, drug, department, and mass-retail stores. Using a mobile device provided by Hallmark, you will restock, organize, and monitor Hallmark inventory, communicate with your supervisor, report time, provide feedback, and complete surveys for required merchandising activities. You are responsible for the Hallmark product display at your assigned stores and will interact professionally with store employees, management, and customers. Team assignments may include building or installing fixtures, relocating card departments and products, and resetting card sections. You will also support other merchandisers in their territories as needed. The work is physically demanding and takes place on selling floors and in back stockrooms. It involves frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling, along with standing, walking, kneeling, and squatting, and may require climbing stairs and step ladders.
