About The Position

The Steward position is responsible for thoroughly cleaning all china, glassware, utensils, pots, pans and silverware, keeping kitchen and surrounding areas clean and well stocked.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a high school diploma (or equivalent) and 0-2 years of experience. However, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration.
  • Must have a positive, self-motivated and professional attitude.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts.
  • Ability to kneel, bend, and stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a hot and steamy environment.
  • Must be able to withstand temperature up to 105 degrees.

Responsibilities

  • Work in the dish machine area to receive soiled items and prepare them for the machine.
  • Transports garbage and recycling to correct disposal areas.
  • Follow instructions for dish machine cleaning including draining/filling etc.
  • Place glassware in designated racks for washing/storing.
  • Rinse china freeing debris prior to loading into the dish machine.
  • Scrub pots and pans to clean thoroughly and rinse in sanitizing sinks.
  • Rinse silverware freeing debris prior to loading in the dish machine.
  • Retrieve necessary plates and stock in designated area.
  • Work with chemicals such as bleach, sanitizer, pot soap, and other cleaning agents.
  • Keep floors clean of food, spills and trash to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Sweeping, scrubbing and mopping of floors in and out of food production areas.
  • Discard trash/recycling in designated containers.
  • Rinse and return cleaning equipment to the proper storage areas.
  • Ensure hand towels, soap and chemicals are well stocked.
  • Always maintain a clean and sanitary work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
