About The Position

The Hall Lead Mental Health Associate (MHA) provides direct care to adolescent residents with psychiatric disorders, ensuring their safety and well-being. This role involves ensuring resident safety on the unit through a therapeutic approach, assisting with daily activities, facilitating groups, and aiding in the intake and discharge process. Hall Leads are responsible for implementing treatment plans, providing crisis intervention, setting a positive example for other MHAs, and assisting in training new MHAs. Alabama Clinical Schools has been a behavioral healthcare provider in the Birmingham area for over 20 years, offering services from intensive residential treatment for males ages 9-18 to therapeutic foster care for males and females of all ages. Their RISE and Specialized Therapeutic Foster Care programs for boys are unique in the State of Alabama. The mission is to enrich the lives of at-risk youth and their families by delivering quality behavioral and educational services while fostering a safe transition to the community.

Requirements

  • Detailed and organized with strong documentation skills.
  • Able to safely monitor residents and perform physical management techniques and crisis intervention.
  • Successfully pass background screen (includes criminal history, Child Abuse and Neglect Registry, and ABI/FBI fingerprint check) and drug testing.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors or Associates degree in psychology, social work, education, criminal justice, or other related mental health field preferred.
  • Experience in a residential mental/behavioral health setting strongly preferred.
