About The Position
Tends to machine that performs one or more packaging functions such as feeding, filling, marking, labeling and sealing packaging by performing the following duties.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Responsibilities
- Starts machine and observes operation to detect malfunctions of machine
- Stops machine and reports malfunction to supervisor
- Makes minor adjustments or repairs such as opening valves, setting guides, or clearing away damaged product containers.
- Inspects filled container to ensure that product is packaged according to specifications.
- Monitors product going to casing and monitors product count.
- Replenishes packaging supplies such as cartons, ink or labels.
- Cleans work are using proper cleaning procedures.
- Positions and holds container in machine and depresses pedal, presses button or moves lever to clean, glue, label, sew or staple container.
- At various times carries and stacks milk cases weighing 20-40 pounds.
- Other duties may be assigned.
