Half Day Camp Counselor Aide (Seasonal)
About The Position
THE CITY OF LEAWOOD, KANSAS is looking for a Half Day Camp Counselor Aide Are you ideal for working as a Half Day Camp Counselor Aide at Leawood? Are you 15 years of age OR older? Possess a strong work ethic and willingness to learn new skills? Are you reliable, punctual, and able to work well in a team environment? Are you ready to make some extra money for the summer? Do you have experience working with Children? As the Half Day Camp Counselor Aide, you will work: Approximately 20 – 30 hours per week between 7 am and 1 pm. Weekdays, nights, weekends, and holidays. The camps will run from mid June through the end of July.
Requirements
- 15 years of age OR older
- Possess a strong work ethic and willingness to learn new skills
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work well in a team environment
- Experience working with Children
Responsibilities
- Assist the Half Day Camp Counselor with the planning, developing, implementing, and directing camp recreational programs including arts and crafts, drama, sports and life skills, language-based activities, dance, and music.
- Assisting in the safety and appropriate supervision of campers and staff, working with children ages 5–11.
- Assisting in maintaining and updating camper records including but not limited to attendance, consent forms, and emergency forms.
- Promote a safe, structured, and positive environment by supporting appropriate camper behavior and ensuring health and safety during all activities.
