Day Camp Counselor
About The Position
In this role, you will conduct summer programming for children. Examples of Duties: Work under the leadership of a Recreation Department Facility Manager, Camp Director, and Camp Unit Leaders. Assist in running an all-day summer camp program at a City recreation center. Work with an assigned group of 10-12 campers; ages may range from 6 to 12. Adhere to a provided schedule of activities including: swimming, arts and crafts, games, sports, and educational enrichment. Monitor the safety and wellbeing of participants. Supervise summer hires, volunteers, and counselors in training. Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Available to work Monday - Friday 9:00 - 5:00 pm for the summer camp season.
- Able to stand and walk outdoors in a variety of weather conditions for prolonged periods of time.
- Valid state-issued driver’s license.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with children.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
