About The Position

The Hair Stylist provides salon clientele with professional services relating to the care and treatment of hair. The role reports to the Salon Manager and includes meeting or exceeding personal service and retail sales goals, building and maintaining a client base, delivering quality services, and recommending appropriate retail products. The stylist also responds to client concerns, continues learning about products and industry developments, and helps maintain salon standards and presentation. The employer describes weekly in-salon training and opportunities to attend outside education classes.

Requirements

Possess a valid and current board-certified license.
Ability to use a computer keyboard, standard telephone, and other related business equipment.
Ability to work with chemicals and chemical compounds.
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.

Nice To Haves

Two to five years of experience in the cosmetology or cosmetic industry is preferred.

Responsibilities

Meet or exceed personal service and retail sales goals.
Acknowledge clients within a reasonable time after they check into the salon.
Build a client base by recruiting New Request Clients and maintaining Customer Client Cards.
Provide quality professional service through technical skills and recommend appropriate retail products to clients.
Respond professionally to customer service issues and promptly address complaints.
Exhibit good communication skills.
Continue education on products, services, and current issues relating to the industry.
Ensure the personal work area and salon meet or exceed State Board Regulations.
Perform basic salon housekeeping, including cleaning, stocking, and maintaining client cards.
Organize time and resources effectively to meet sales goals.
Communicate issues and needs to salon management.
Meet salon attendance and tardiness guidelines.
Maintain an updated professional appearance and comply with the salon dress code.
