About The Position

The responsibilities of this position include providing beautician and barber services to residents of Rehab and Nursing facilities. This role involves cutting and styling hair according to resident requests, washing, rinsing, and drying hair with appropriate products. The Hair Stylist is also responsible for maintaining a clean and sterilized work area in accordance with regulations, coordinating and scheduling resident appointments, and ensuring resident satisfaction. A key aspect of this role is promoting a friendly and positive atmosphere, contributing to the Quality of Life Team, and keeping direct reports informed of significant issues. Accurate and timely documentation of activities is also required.

Requirements

• Required High School Diploma or equivalent
• 1 year of relevant experience Barber or Hair Stylist experience Required
• LIC-Cosmetologist - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required

Nice To Haves

• 1 year of relevant experience in a long-term care setting Preferred

Responsibilities

• Cutting and styling hair consistent with resident’s requests.
• Wash, rinse, and dry resident’s hair using appropriate shampoos, conditioners, and other necessary hair products.
• Maintains cleanliness in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations and ensures work area is clean and equipment is always sterilized.
• Coordinate and schedule appointments for residents.
• Communicate with residents to ensure satisfaction of services.
• Promotes a friendly and positive atmosphere in the delivery of services.
• Contributes positively to the Quality of Life Team and keeps direct report informed of significant issues.
• Ensures that required documentation for activities within areas of responsibility is performed in an accurate and timely manner.
