About The Position

As a Hair Stylist, you are responsible for performing professional cuts, styles, chemical services, and therapeutic hair and scalp treatments. Possessing and maintaining a Michigan cosmetology license, as well as knowledge of current hairstyles and trends, is required. Requirements

Possess a valid Michigan cosmetology license
Previous hair styling experience
Enthusiasm and excellent customer service skills
Enjoy working with people and have a friendly outgoing personality
Excellent communication and listening skills
Basis computer skills

Responsibilities

Providing consistent professional hair treatments in accordance with spa protocols and accepted certification practices
Being on time for your shift and prompt with each appointment, performing services within appropriate times allotted for service
Being flexible with your schedule to better support the needs of the spa
Properly caring for equipment and using proper amounts of product to assist with cost controls
Having complete knowledge and understanding of all services and products while educating and training guests in these areas
Actively promoting home care programs, meeting minimum retail sales goals
Upholding the standards of sanitation and sterilization as directed by law and the spa’s policies and procedures
Performing prep work and properly cleaning and restocking work area as required
Communicating to management any and all occurrences involving staff or guests in the spa or salon that require attention
Actively promoting the spa, treatments, services, sessions and retail, as well as programs, promotions and/or discounts available
Handling guest’s questions and concerns professionally and courteously
Providing accurate, appropriate and immediate responses to all requests by guests ensuring complete guest satisfaction
Possessing ability to work without direct supervision
Maintaining a positive attitude and contribution toward a quality work environment
Regularly attending, participating in and supporting training and staff meetings for the spa
Assisting in all areas of spa operation as requested by management
