About The Position

The Hair Stylist provides salon clients with professional services relating to hair care and treatment. The role focuses on delivering quality client service, building a client base, supporting retail sales, maintaining the salon and personal presentation standards, and continuing professional education. The stylist works in a premier mall salon and reports to the Salon Manager. The position is nonexempt and part-time. Weekly in-salon training and opportunities to attend outside industry education classes are offered.

Requirements

Possess a valid and current board-certified license.
Ability to use a computer keyboard, standard telephone, and other related business equipment.
Ability to work with chemicals and chemical compounds.
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.

Nice To Haves

Two to five years of experience in the cosmetology or cosmetic industry.
Creative, motivated, goal-oriented, and a team player with a passion for the hair industry and continued learning.

Responsibilities

Meet or exceed personal service and retail sales goals.
Acknowledge clients within a reasonable time after they check into the salon.
Build a client base by recruiting New Request Clients and maintaining Customer Client Cards.
Provide quality professional services using technical skills and recommend appropriate retail products to clients.
Respond professionally to customer service issues and promptly address complaints.
Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
Continue education on products, services, and current industry issues.
Ensure the personal work area and salon meet or exceed State Board regulations.
Perform basic salon housekeeping, including cleaning, stocking, and maintaining client cards.
Organize time and resources effectively to meet sales goals.
Communicate issues and needs to Salon Management.
Meet salon attendance and punctuality guidelines.
Maintain a professional appearance and comply with the salon dress code.
