Hair Salon Manager
About The Position
Join a locally owned Great Clips salon as a hands-on leader responsible for guiding a team and helping the salon run effectively. The Salon Manager coaches, develops, and motivates stylists, manages day-to-day salon operations, and provides haircuts and other customer services as salon needs require. The balance between administrative work and time on the salon floor varies by location. The role includes leadership and technical training, ongoing support, operational systems, and salon technology such as Online Check-In and the Great Clips App. The position is offered at a newly remodeled salon, with advertised earnings of $20–$50 per hour. Great Clips salons are independently owned and operated by franchisees, who handle hiring and personnel matters.
Requirements
- Valid cosmetology and/or barber license; requirements vary by state or province.
- Strong technical haircutting skills.
- Proven leadership ability or readiness to take on full salon responsibility.
- Excellent communication skills and a desire to motivate, develop, and support a team.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage day-to-day salon operations.
- Comfort with technology and salon tools, including scheduling systems, metrics, and reports.
- Goal-oriented mindset focused on team performance and customer experience.
- Adaptability and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Nice To Haves
- Previous leadership experience is helpful but not always required.
- Experience as an Assistant Manager or an experienced stylist ready to take on leadership responsibility.
