About The Position

The purpose of the HACCP/Foreign Material position is to detect and eliminate foreign material or potential sources of foreign material within production areas.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma and 3-5 years of work experience related to quality assurance (food manufacturing industry is a plus)
  • Ability to communicate clearly in verbal and written format
  • Ability to work in a physical, manufacturing environment
  • Ability to investigate and follow-up on foreign material issues identified
  • Must possess strong organizational and verbal & written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage/Complete Pre-Op procedures in specified area(s) daily to evaluate machine readiness
  • Audit/Evaluate machinery routinely ensuring that the risk for foreign material contamination is eliminated
  • Audit/Evaluate machine operators routinely ensuring that the risk for foreign material contamination is eliminated
  • Audit/Evaluate production lines and products routinely ensuring that the risk for foreign material contamination is eliminated
  • Deactivate & Reactivate production lines as needed
  • Complete and submit work orders for maintenance as needed, following up to ensure the needed maintenance was sufficiently completed
  • Counsel/discipline/re-train machine operators on protocols as needed (with the machine operator’s assigned supervisor)
  • Promote a culture of integrity as it relates to food quality throughout the plant
  • Manage and evaluate new machine operators on foreign material protocols and procedures
  • Train employees on new foreign material procedures
  • Develop/implement new, more efficient foreign material procedures, protocol (with the approval of the Foreign Materials Supervisor)
  • Complete forms, reports, documentation procedures as assigned
  • Assist in the preparation for audits- Customer and annual certification audits
  • Building and maintaining strong, mutually beneficial relationships with the operations team and USDA.
  • All other duties as assigned
