About The Position
At H2O Church in Athens, we seek to love God and the city of Athens by reaching college students and community members with the gospel. Ohio University presents a unique ministry opportunity; with nearly 20,000 students, it is known as a top party school in a post-Christian region at the center of the Appalachian region of Ohio. If you are looking to challenge yourself by doing ministry in "hard soil," our residency is an ideal fit. A resident with H2O Church will participate in campus evangelism and leadership development while gaining valuable experience reaching the people of Athens County. Beyond the ministry, Athens is a beautiful town offering a wide variety of outdoor activities. Reliant is a faith-based nonprofit that partners with missional churches and Gospel-centered nonprofits to mobilize support-based missionaries for the Great Commission. Through Reliant, we provide missionaries with the resources, training, and support needed to thrive in their calling, including the critical process of raising financial and prayer support. Whether you're pursuing a short-term internship, a long-term residency, or a career in ministry, we are here to support and guide you every step of the way.
