About The Position

TSI is seeking a highly motivated, energetic, and enthusiastic individual for the role of Technical Sales Specialist II. In this role, you will be responsible for the promotion and direct sale of the whole Health and Safety portfolio of solutions within an assigned geographic territory as well as specific market segments. This role involves servicing an existing customer base through follow-ups, introducing new products, and providing training. It also requires developing new customer relationships through lead follow-up and consultative selling, guiding customers through the sales process. The specialist will leverage resources like product demonstrations and internal subject matter experts to provide value, conduct weekly face-to-face meetings, and perform targeted cold calling to achieve revenue goals. The role involves researching industry trends and customer needs, collaborating with marketing on voice of customer activities, and providing feedback for new product development. Continuous self-directed learning about products, applications, and technical advances is expected. Collaboration with team members and active participation in discussions and meetings are also key. The position requires utilizing tools like Salesforce for sales analysis, administrative tasks, opportunity management, expense management, territory planning, forecasting, and commentary. Attending tradeshows and conferences as a TSI brand ambassador is also part of the role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, Business or equivalent industry experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in technical sales, with a minimum of 2 years success in achieving individual sales goals.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and customer relationship management (CRM) software.
  • Technical aptitude to understand assigned products, with an astute knowledge of industry market trends.
  • Proficient in current Sales methodologies and best practices.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and present information to a wide range of audiences.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and verbal/written communication skills.
  • Strategic and collaborative leadership skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and drive for results.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with other teams within organization.
  • Highly motivated self-starter who takes initiative with minimal supervision.
  • Valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance required.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship. We require proof of eligibility to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health and Safety, Healthcare, Indoor Air Quality (IAQ), Environmental Science, Medical Device & Equipment and/or Laboratory Services experience.
  • Proven track record of selling New to Customers or New to Markets solutions.
  • Experience selling SaaS.
  • Experience selling to multiple levels of buying influences within organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Service an install-base of existing customers through frequent follow ups, introduction of new products/solutions as well as training efforts.
  • Leverage existing customer relationships, become their champions and trusted partner that can result in the cultivation of referrals.
  • Develop and cultivate new customer relationships through lead follow-up and a consultative selling directly to end users. Follow a customer journey through the sales process of engagement, discovery, value-building, and opportunity advancement.
  • Leverage resources, such as product demonstrations or joint meetings with internal subject matter experts to provide uncommon value during customer interactions.
  • Weekly face to face meetings with customers and prospects.
  • Conduct targeted cold calling and other strategic activities in key market segments to drive individual territory management plan and achieve revenue goals.
  • Proactively research, ask, listen and clarify data in order to gain insight regarding industry trends and application information.
  • Work collaboratively with marketing on voice of customer (VOC) activities and to provide constructive feedback to help shape the trajectory of new and next product development (NPD).
  • Pursue continuous self-directed learning about the assigned product and solution portfolio, customer applications, and new technical advances in the fields and markets you serve
  • Collaborate with team members and actively participate in team discussions, meetings and events.
  • Utilize tools like Customer Relationship Management software (Salesforce) and other packages for sales analysis, administrative responsibilities, activities, opportunity management, expense management, territory planning, monthly forecasting and commentary.
  • Attend tradeshows and conferences as a TSI brand ambassador.
