About The Position

The Director of Home Care Agency is responsible for the overall management, operations, and strategic direction of the home care agency. This leadership role ensures the delivery of high-quality care services while maintaining regulatory compliance, financial sustainability, and staff excellence.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of D.D.D. policies and procedures is a must
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing, Healthcare Administration, or currently enrolled
  • Current RN license (in most states)
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Minimum 5 years of healthcare management experience
  • Experience with Medicare/Medicaid regulations and reimbursement
  • Proven track record in staff management and development
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Financial management and budgeting expertise
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance requirements
  • Proficiency in healthcare software and electronic health records
  • Problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Cultural competency and sensitivity

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree preferred
  • 3+ years of home care or community health experience preferred
  • Previous experience as a Director or Administrator in home care
  • Certification in healthcare management
  • Experience with Joint Commission or other accreditation processes
  • Bilingual capabilities (depending on community served)

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the home care agency
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and quality assurance programs
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations (CMS, Department of Health, OSHA)
  • Monitor service delivery quality and client satisfaction
  • Manage client intake, assessment, and care plan development processes
  • Recruit, hire, train, and supervise nursing staff, caregivers, and administrative personnel
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing professional development
  • Ensure adequate staffing levels to meet client needs
  • Foster a positive work environment and maintain staff morale
  • Develop and manage agency budgets and financial forecasts
  • Monitor revenue, expenses, and profitability
  • Knowledge of and oversee D.D.D. billing, collections, and insurance reimbursements, including basic payroll principles
  • Analyze financial reports and implement cost-control measures
  • Maintain current knowledge of healthcare regulations and licensing requirements
  • Prepare for and manage state inspections and audits
  • Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping practices
  • Implement risk management and safety protocols
  • Develop relationships with referral sources (hospitals, physicians, discharge planners)
  • Participate in community outreach and marketing initiatives
  • Identify opportunities for service expansion and growth
  • Maintain partnerships with healthcare providers and community organizations
