GYN/Reproductive, Endocrinology and Infertility Sonographer
About The Position
This is a full-time position at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center within the Obstetrics/Gynecology department, specifically for Sonographers at Stratford Executive Pk Shepherd. The role involves examining patient requests, verifying orders, assisting Radiologists in invasive procedures, evaluating technical quality of exams, and developing efficient techniques. The Sonographer will support the Patient-Centered Care Philosophy, report equipment malfunctions, operate the Radiology computer system, and maintain a neat and stocked work area while adhering to departmental rules and regulations in a professional manner.
Requirements
- Certified by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers or American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (S).
- One of the following registries are required: Abdomen (AB), or Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN).
- BLS certification is required.
- Graduate of a comprehensive medical diagnostic ultrasound program required in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or General Ultrasound.

Responsibilities
- Examines requests and verifies orders on each assigned patient.
- Assists Radiologist in performing invasive procedures.
- Evaluates technical quality of exam and develops a superior varied technique for elevated efficiency in the department.
- Supports and contributes to the Patient-Centered Care Philosophy by understanding that every staff member is a Caregiver, whose role is to meet the needs of each patient.
- Reports malfunctioning equipment to the Assistant Director, Lead Sonographer and/or Engineer.
- Operates the Radiology computer system to include entering and charging exams and supplies.
- Maintains assigned work area in a neat and orderly fashion.
- Assists in keeping the area completely stocked.
- Adheres to departmental rules and regulations while performing in a professional manner always.
