About The Position

The Greater Philadelphia YMCA is seeking a passionate Gymnastics Coach to join their team. This role involves positively impacting the community by helping children reach their potential, achieve age-appropriate goals, and change lives within the Y community. The position is part-time and hourly, with a pay rate of $13.00-$18.00 per hour.

Requirements

21+ years of age
3-5 years of experience in a gymnastics setting
Some college or equivalent
Strong communication skills with a desire to meet everyone at their level of experience
Enjoyment from working with children and maintaining positive relationships with their parents

Nice To Haves

USAG Safety Certification for Competitions
Strong knowledge of gymnastics competitions including experience at the state and/or national level

Responsibilities

Provide a safe, encouraging, and supportive environment for members and participants to learn YMCA programs and specific progressive or competitive programs.
Arrive at least 15 minutes before scheduled class, prepared with equipment set up and ready to begin on time.
Evaluate program skills, complete progress reports for each session, communicate with parents, complete incident reports, and take attendance.
Assist in instructing program skills and character development objectives and techniques in accordance with YMCA standards.
Provide supervision to program participants and actively participate in all aspects of the program.
Wear proper attire in accordance with YMCA standards.
Manage participant behavior using a collaborative approach with supervision and parents.
Follow approved positive support techniques to develop and refine gymnast's skills.
Attend staff meetings and trainings as required.
