About The Position

The City of Port Washington is seeking a Gymnastics Instructor to teach gymnastics rotations, ensuring the safety and well-being of each child. This role involves leading warm-ups, skills, and positions, demonstrating techniques, performing safety checks, and spotting children on basic skills. The instructor will also be responsible for setting up and breaking down stations and equipment and arriving 15 minutes before the first scheduled class to review the lesson plan and teaching stations.

Requirements

• Minimum age of 14 years old.
• Mature, responsible, and have a great attitude.
• Enjoy working with children.
• Ability to effectively communicate with children and adults.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in gymnastics is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teaches gymnastics rotations, ensuring the safety and well-being of each child.
• Leads warm ups, skills, positions and appropriately demonstrates whenever possible.
• Performs regular safety checks.
• Safely spots children on basic skills.
• Helps to set up and break down stations and equipment in an organized manner.
• Arrives 15 minutes before first scheduled class of the day to familiarize self with the lesson plan and teaching stations.
