About The Position

The Ocean Community YMCA is seeking an energetic and experienced Gymnastics Coordinator to lead and grow its recreational and competitive gymnastics programs. This role involves hands-on coaching, program leadership, staff development, ensuring safety, and fostering family engagement. The goal is to create a positive environment that helps children develop skills, confidence, and a lasting passion for gymnastics. This is a full-time, exempt position located at the Westerly-Pawcatuck YMCA in Westerly, RI.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• 3–5 years of gymnastics experience
• Working knowledge of gymnastics skills and spotting techniques for beginner, intermediate, and advanced competitive levels
• Gymnastics safety certification required within 6 months of employment
• CPR, AED, First Aid, and Emergency Oxygen certifications required
• Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
• Ability to create a positive, safe, and engaging environment for athletes, staff, and families

Responsibilities

• Lead high-quality recreational and competitive gymnastics programming
• Coach and support the competitive Gymnastics Team
• Recruit, train, schedule, and mentor gymnastics staff
• Develop engaging programs that grow participation and retention
• Coordinate meets, competitions, and special events
• Maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming gymnastics environment
• Build strong relationships with athletes, families, and community partners
