About The Position

At Capital Gymnastics - Pflugerville we are dedicated to fostering a love for movement, fitness, and fun in a safe and supportive gymnastics environment. Our programs focus on gymnastics and tumbling for all ages and skill levels. We’re looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our coaching team! As a Gymnastics Coach, you will play a key role in teaching and inspiring young athletes in gymnastics skills. The schedule for this position is variable, allowing for flexibility while meeting the needs of our students. We prefer a minimum of 3 days availability and a willingness to assist in special events at the gym throughout each month. In addition, we offer the opportunity to develop coaching skills while being part of a supportive community.

Requirements

• Ability to see and hear clearly 20 yards away.
• Ability to provide sustained attention to students during class time in the gym.
• Ability to stand, kneel, stoop, crouch, and climb onto a spotting block to assist athletes.
• Ability to spot a gymnast, including the strength to lift and carry at minimum 50 pounds.
• Ability to move equipment including the strength to push or pull at minimum 50 pounds.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must be able to maintain a consistent evening schedule.

Nice To Haves

• A background or a future working with kids (preferred)
• Exposure to gymnastics, cheer, tumbling, or dance (a plus)
• Customer service experience (a plus)

Responsibilities

• Coaching kids to develop work ethic, listening skills, confidence, and body control.
• Warming students up with fun conditioning and fitness games.
• Spotting children as they learn new skills.
• Sharing in students’ excitement as they master new skills.
• Keeping parents up to date on their children's progress.
• Learning new techniques, skills, spotting methods, and progressions.
• Assisting with special events throughout the month on Friday evenings, Saturdays and Sundays.
• Being available for additional hours on Friday evenings, Saturdays and Sundays for birthday parties and special events.
