About The Position

The Gymnastics Coach provides class instruction and coaching for children’s gymnastics at the Chaska Community Center. This role involves working with children, demonstrating and explaining age-appropriate skills, ensuring equipment safety, maintaining records, communicating with parents, and providing guidance to new staff.

Requirements

• 15 years of age or older
• Ability to work with gymnastics equipment and course set-ups
• Experience working with children
• High energy and enthusiasm
• Ability to address issues and problem solve

Responsibilities

• Works in tandem with another coach to oversee 10-12 students at once, providing instruction in the balance beam, vault, bars/rings and floor.
• Demonstrates age appropriate skills to child/children; explains, spots, and assists during learning process.
• Ensures gymnastics equipment is in working order and used according to safety standards.
• Maintains records for class participants, including attendance, injury, and evaluation documents.
• Regularly communicates with parents/guardians of participants, providing pertinent information and responses to questions and concerns and addresses and resolves problems with consultation or assistance from Gymnastics Coordinator.
• Provides orientation and guidance to new staff.
• Performs all other related duties as requested or assigned.
