At Soho House, the Gym Reception is responsible for a variety of front desk tasks, such as welcoming, signing in and directing members and guests, as well as taking phone calls, answering questions, handling correspondence, and keeping the reception area clean and well-organized. A Gym Reception team member is friendly, personable, familiar with gym equipment, communicates efficiently, and has good computer skills. A successful Gym Reception may also be responsible for training other members of the Gym Reception team and sharing knowledge on all aspects of House Gym and fostering a “home away from home” feeling, as well as scheduling personal training sessions, communicating with members and trainers, and creating a top-notch first impression by providing a warm welcome, tidy appearance, and pleasant manner always.
