About The Position

Deliver high quality recreation services for residents, visitors and the St. Charles community by adhering to the District’s safety and administrative policies and procedures. This position requires extensive knowledge and ability to: Work cooperatively and harmoniously with the general public, other facility users and fellow employees. Effectively communicate orally and in writing. Assist in supervising all scheduled activities. Prepare courts/fields for open gym. Supervise large groups. Monitor and request supplies, as needed. Perform First Aid as necessary. Complete accident reports according to Park District Guidelines. Resolve problems with participants. Collect fees and issue receipts. Follow all safety procedures that pertain to duties involved. Maintain certification in First Aid/AED. Assist and manage emergency procedures and facility evacuation. Maintain a working knowledge and the ability to enforce and explain Park District procedures, rules and policies. Open and close the facility.

Requirements

  • Requires a minimum of 16 years old.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills are a must.
  • Knowledge of how to greet the public courteously, obtain information and give accurate and understandable information.
  • Maintain First Aid/CPR/AED certification or obtain certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Maintain DCFS mandated reporter certificate or obtain certification within 30 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer work experience in reception and customer service work including basic computer work
