About The Position

Bowhead seeks an GXVM System Information System Security Engineer (ISSE) to support its customer in Crane, IN. The GXVM System Information System Security Engineer (ISSE) will provide direct support to the Program Office Technical Lead onsite at NSWC Crane and will be expected to travel regularly to SPHQ or Field Activities. This position will provide technical and program management support to one or more SSP programs and Program Offices, as directed.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science Degree in either Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity or equivalent
Five (5+) or more years of relevant cybersecurity experience
CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification
Current and valid Operating System/Computing Environment (OS/CE) certifications or certificates of training for both Windows and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
Must be proficient in RHEL.
Ability to communicate effectively and proficiently with leadership and stakeholders, via both oral and written communication, using American English
Ability to collaborate with large and highly competent technical teams.
Strategic high-level thinking
Ability/experience with planning an initiative involving large-scale, networked systems.
Must be a United States citizen to obtain clearance.
Willing and able to travel 40% or more.

Nice To Haves

Prior US military experience
Ten (10+) or more years of relevant cybersecurity experience
Graduate degree in Cybersecurity or equivalent
Active Top Secret Clearance

Responsibilities

Ensure Cybersecurity requirements to support system acquisition, development, test, and sustainment are embedded in SSP system designs.
Provide technical and program management support to one or more SSP programs and Program Offices.
Develop and apply requirements for large-scale or service specific pilot projects.
Support the Program Office Technical Lead as needed identifying issues and action items and participating in ISSE discussions.
Provide customer interactions with Program Offices and associated contractors/subcontractors.
Coordinate and collaborate with the stakeholders, including SSP representatives and contractors/subcontractors through assessments, subject matter expert input to proposals, technical interchange meetings, status teleconferences, email correspondence, and other meetings as required.
Support development of technical presentations and provide comments on the technical content.
Develop System Security Plans detailing the security controls implemented for each information system.
Work with SSP programs to develop and maintain lifecycle plans.
Evaluate performer deliverables and presentations.
