About The Position
This role involves providing direct patient care, administering medications, documenting resident conditions, and overseeing certified nursing aides. The position requires close communication with physicians and designated points of contact regarding resident status changes. The training program is designed for Graduate Vocational Nurses pursuing their official Texas licensure.
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited vocational nursing program.
- Active status as a Graduate Vocational Nurse pursuing official Texas licensure.
Responsibilities
- Observe, assess, document, and report resident conditions and changes during rounds.
- Ensure resident care plans are correctly followed and implemented.
- Give prescribed medications and perform narcotic counts (reconciliation) between shifts.
- Complete required nursing assessments before calling a doctor regarding any change in a resident's health.
- Monitor and oversee certified nursing aides.
- Complete accident, incident, and discharge reports according to facility policy.
- Update residents' designated points of contact on status changes.
