About The Position

The Gunsmith will provide World-Class service to all customers interested in purchasing merchandise. This role involves assisting customers with purchases, identifying and evaluating their needs, making product recommendations, and promoting programs such as CLUB Membership, VOC, and In-Store Pick-up. The position requires a good health record, the ability to pass drug and lung capacity tests, and no medical issues that would be aggravated by working around chemicals or dust. Candidates will undergo interviews with the Corporate Gunsmith and the Fine Gun Room Manager, and potentially other store management and administrative personnel. All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of actual bench/shop experience on shotguns, rifles and handguns.
• Working knowledge of machinery used in a gunsmith shop, such as a lathe, grinder, sander, etc.
• Good health record and must be able to pass a drug screen test and a lung capacity test prior to employment and yearly thereafter.
• No medical issues which would make working around chemicals or dust a problem.
• Physically fit and able to lift 50 pounds minimum.
• Adhere to and follow the dress code and personal hygiene established by Bass Pro Shops.

Nice To Haves

• An apprenticeship or college degree.
• Gunsmith should have or be willing to obtain certification from gun manufacturers as a factory trained repair person.
