About The Position

Scheels is seeking a part-time Gun Customer Service associate who will contribute to a culture that thrives on delivering a personalized WOW customer experience, having a team-first, winning mentality, learning and adapting to constant change, taking pride in work and thinking like owners, and expecting honesty and integrity in all that they do. The associate will greet customers, engage in conversation, provide personalized service, accurately scan items, bag purchases carefully, promote the Scheels Visa card, process returns and exchanges for firearm purchases, complete firearm background checks, assist with Gun Room housekeeping, and ensure all ATF federal laws and guidelines are followed. The role also involves executing technology-based processes for firearm and/or suppressor transactions and performing other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 1-3 months of cashiering experience
  • Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects

Responsibilities

  • Greet all customers with a smile when entering and exiting the store
  • Enhance the customer experience by engaging in conversation while providing personalized service and consistently meeting the goals of the digital receipt program
  • Accurately scan every item customers are purchasing, ensuring all merchandise is properly rung through and paid for before the customer leaves the store
  • Treat merchandise with care, and bag purchases carefully and efficiently
  • Promote the Scheels Visa card and clearly explain all benefits
  • End each transaction by saying “thank you” to every customer
  • Process returns and exchanges for firearm purchases
  • Complete firearm background checks
  • Assist with Gun Room housekeeping
  • Ensure all ATF federal laws and guidelines are followed
  • Ability to execute technology-based processes for firearm and/or suppressor transactions
  • All other duties as assigned
