About The Position

Scheels is seeking a Full-Time Gun Customer Service associate to join their team. This role is responsible for providing excellent customer service, processing transactions accurately, and adhering to all federal laws and guidelines related to firearm sales. The ideal candidate will be over 21, possess a strong customer-first mentality, and be able to handle physical demands. As an employee-owner, you'll contribute to a culture of teamwork, integrity, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• All associates that process firearms must be over the age of 21.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• 1-3 months of cashiering experience
• Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to execute technology-based processes for firearm and/or suppressor transactions

Responsibilities

• Greet all customers with a smile when entering and exiting the store
• Enhance the customer experience by engaging in conversation while providing personalized service and consistently meeting the goals of the digital receipt program
• Accurately scan every item customers are purchasing, ensuring all merchandise is properly rung through and paid for before the customer leaves the store
• Treat merchandise with care, and bag purchases carefully and efficiently
• Promote the Scheels Visa card and clearly explain all benefits
• End each transaction by saying “thank you” to every customer
• Process returns and exchanges for firearm purchases
• Complete firearm background checks
• Assist with Gun Room housekeeping
• Ensure all ATF federal laws and guidelines are followed
• Ability to execute technology-based processes for firearm and/or suppressor transactions
• All other duties as assigned
