Guidewire Technical Consultant
About The Position
Bright Vision Technologies is seeking a Guidewire Technical Consultant for a full-time, direct W2 position supporting the company’s in-house Statement of Work engagement. The position is 100% remote within the Continental United States. The consultant will deliver configuration, integration, and customization across Guidewire InsuranceSuite—including PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, and ClaimCenter—and Guidewire Cloud. The work emphasizes hands-on Gosu development, integration design, product model configuration, and Guidewire Cloud upgrades. The consultant will work with business analysts, subject-matter experts, and cross-functional partners to turn requirements into reliable insurance-platform features, and contribute to code and design reviews and the development of junior engineers. The ideal candidate has production Guidewire experience for insurance carriers, understands the trade-offs of platform customization, and brings strong engineering discipline, communication, and stakeholder collaboration skills. Employment is directly with Bright Vision Technologies; the posting excludes C2C, 1099, and third-party arrangements. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Five or more years of Guidewire development experience.
- Deep expertise in Gosu programming and the Guidewire data model.
- Hands-on experience customizing PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, or ClaimCenter.
- Strong understanding of product model and rule design.
- Experience building Guidewire integrations using messaging, batch, or plugins.
- Familiarity with Guidewire Cloud Platform.
- Strong SQL skills and understanding of the Guidewire database schema.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Willingness to work directly as a full-time W2 employee of Bright Vision Technologies on its in-house SOW deliverables.
- Confidence in technical abilities and hands-on experience to complete a mandatory technical coding assessment.

- Guidewire ACE certifications.
- Experience with Guidewire Cloud upgrades.

- Insurance domain expertise across P&C lines.
- Experience with reinsurance, policy administration, or claims modernization programs.
Responsibilities
- Develop configuration and customizations across PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, and ClaimCenter using Gosu.
- Implement product model changes, including coverages, conditions, and term-level logic.
- Build and maintain Guidewire integrations using messaging, batch, plugins, and Guidewire Integration Gateway.
- Develop integrations with policy, claims, billing, document generation, payment, and reinsurance systems.
- Implement rules using GX Model, business rules, and validation rules.
- Support Guidewire Cloud Platform upgrades, configuration refactoring, and adoption of cloud-native patterns.
- Develop and maintain unit tests, regression suites, and automated testing for Guidewire components.
- Build PCF customizations following Guidewire best practices.
- Implement Guidewire entity model extensions, augmentations, and data model changes using platform-supported patterns compatible with future Cloud Platform upgrades.
- Profile and optimize complex Gosu logic and database queries, using systematic measurement and data-driven validation to improve throughput, latency, or resource efficiency.
- Participate in code reviews, contribute to standards, and document technical decisions.
- Troubleshoot production issues across PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, and ClaimCenter, partnering with insurance SMEs to find durable resolutions.
- Collaborate with business analysts, product owners, and SMEs to clarify requirements.
- Stay current with Guidewire releases, Cloud Platform developments, and insurance-domain trends.
- Work with cross-functional partners and mentor more junior engineers.
